Just drop by our office Monday through Friday, 12pm-5pm. You may also call 537-4420 to start the enrollment process over the phone. Please pay at the time of enrollment. MAC will not deposit checks until the class minimum has been met. 

Students who qualify for reduced price or free school lunches at school also qualify for reduced class prices at the Manhattan Arts Center. Please call 537-4420 and ask for details. After-school class scholarships are funded by a grant from the YES! Fund of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation.

MAC reserves the right to change or cancel classes for any reason. Please enroll early to secure your spot. MAC regrets that it does not provide transportation to or from any of its classes.

The Manhattan Arts Center offers art education to adults and children of all incomes. Throughout the year there are a variety of drawing, painting, ceramics, theatre, and music classes available. We offer a "Youth Summer Adventure" program for kids, and classes for adults. In summer, we offer various classes for both adults and children.

Arts For All. We believe that arts education enhances the lives of all who participate. With this in mind, we will continue to nurture the creative abilities of Manhattan's children, for they are the future artists, playwrights, actors, singers, and story tellers.

James A Fletcher Memorial Award
This is an award given by Mavis Fletcher in honor of her husband. The competition is open to all 2D artists who are residents of Kansas.

If you would like to receive an application for the 2015 Fletcher Award, please email the MAC office at:  office@manhattanarts.org

CONGRATULATIONS to Ann Carter, our 2014 Fletcher Award winner, for her encaustic painting "Both the Earth and the Sky"



 

Our galleries feature the works of local and regional artists and cover a wide spectrum of different art forms including watercolors, photographs, pastels, oils, ceramics, and other mixed media works.

Artist exhibitions have included the photographs of Gordon Parks, the watercolors of John Cody, a Thonet Chair exhibit, pastels by M.L. Moseman, and paintings by Grandma Layton.

Saturday 1-4 pm
and by appointment.


**Our Gallery committee reviews the submissions sent to us, and selects artists for six-week shows. Our galleries are normally booked six months to one year in advance.**

Theatre Information

The Arts Center offers a theatre season of four productions, usually including at least one comedy and one musical. Open auditions are held for each show, and community members fill both onstage and backstage roles.

**All seats for plays and musicals are reserved. See below for information on season subscriptions.**

Tickets to MAC performances are NOT REFUNDABLE and NOT EXCHANGEABLE.
Season Ticket holders may exchange their tickets.

No preparation is needed for auditions for most MAC shows.
For musicals, please come prepared to sing a short song. Please bring sheet music if you would like accompaniment.
Just come either night, ideally between 7 and 8 pm and fill out an audition form.
You'll usually have a chance to read through the passages from the script that the director has selected. 
If you are not cast, we welcome your participation in backstage roles.

Sky Parade: The Vaudeville Revival

Bring the whole family to this roller coaster of a show that combines grand illusions, juggling and physical theatre to bring you a parade of talent and comedy. With a bit of help from your imagination anything is possible. Things once damaged restore themselves, magicians and jugglers settle their differences, and mimes learn a hard lesson about playing with magic.

Featuring: Korso the Curious, Dot the Mime and Juggling Dingus.
